Artists’ Editions

Phillip Lai
I hope I shall arrive soon, 2014

Tyre pieces, string/cord
19 x 12cm (exact dimensions and materials vary)
Edition of 15

This edition closely relates to a work in Phillip Lai’s Gallery 3 exhibition in which fragments of tyres are wrapped around each other, in an arrangement that is evocative of a group of snakes. Here, one piece of tyre forms a grip around another which is turned inside out, displaying the inner surface which would normally touch the innertube or wheel. These methods of abstracting the material from its everyday use, draw attention to the tyre as an object associated with movement - usually spinning or traversing a distance.

As postage and packaging requirements are different for each edition, these costs are not added when purchasing online. As soon as the Bookshop receives your order we will email you to discuss the requirements for posting your edition.

Edition prices will increase as they sell out.
