Lubna Chowdhary creates ceramic works which are integrated with architecture and the built environment. These sculptural editions are closely related to Chowdhary's earlier multi object work Metropolis - which examines the proliferating man-made world.
Lubna Chowdhary was born in Tanzania; she arrived in the north of England in 1970. She has a BA Hons from Manchester Metropolitan University and a Masters degree in Ceramics from the Royal College of Art in 2001. She was shortlisted for the Jerwood Applied Arts Prize in Ceramics. Recent selected group exhibitions include: PAD London with Gallerie Yves &Victor Gastou, 2015; Design Days Dubai, 2014; Simply by Hand, 2012; Collect-Saatchi Gallery, London, 2011. Her work is held in public collections including: Mead Gallery, Warwick; Shipley Art Gallery, Gateshead; Nottingham Castle Museum; Abingdon Museum, Oxfordshire; Poole Museum, Dorset.
